A fire broke out earlier today, July 16, 2025, at the iconic mainstage of Tomorrowland in Boom, Belgium, just days before the festival’s scheduled opening weekend. Videos circulating online show large flames and thick smoke consuming the structure, with much of the stage reportedly reduced to a blackened frame.
Emergency services, including fire crews and police, quickly responded to the scene. Roads near the site were temporarily closed to ensure access for responders, and residents in the area were advised to keep their windows shut due to heavy smoke.
The fire occurred during construction hours, and no festival attendees were on-site. There have been no reports of injuries so far, though workers were present during the incident. The extent of the damage and how it might impact this weekend’s performances remains unclear.
In an official statement released shortly after, Tomorrowland reassured attendees that DreamVille, the festival’s renowned campsite, will open as scheduled on Thursday, July 17. All Global Journey activities in Brussels and Antwerp will also proceed as planned.
Organizers stated they are “focused on finding solutions for the festival weekend (Friday – Saturday – Sunday)” and have promised that more updates and detailed information will be communicated as soon as possible.
This incident comes at a critical time as thousands of attendees from around the world prepare to descend on Boom, Belgium for one of the most anticipated editions of Tomorrowland. The extent of the damage and how it may impact the Mainstage shows is still unknown, but fans remain hopeful that the spirit of the festival will endure.
Stay tuned for further updates as this story develops.
