MRAK, the solo project of Carmine Conte from Tale Of Us, returns with a powerful three-track EP released on Afterlife in July 2025. The new release, titled "Smoke / Nobody / All Of The Lights," showcases MRAK’s signature blend of cinematic techno, emotional tension, and atmospheric depth. Each track carries its own unique narrative while fitting cohesively into the sonic world MRAK continues to craft.
Smoke
The title track sets the tone with a moody and immersive soundscape. Layers of synths build slowly, anchored by a hypnotic groove and ghost-like vocal textures. "Smoke" is both brooding and uplifting, offering the kind of depth MRAK is known for in his live performances. It’s a long-awaited ID that finally sees the light of day in full.
Nobody
"Nobody" shifts into a more introspective mode. Minimal percussion and subtle basslines carry a sparse, emotive vocal sample that echoes through the mix. The result is a stripped-back, melancholic track that explores isolation and presence in equal measure.
All Of The Lights
The final track delivers cinematic intensity. Bold synth stabs, features Braev's powerful voice with powerful low-end movement, and wide atmospheric pads create a dramatic ending to the EP. "All Of The Lights" is high-impact and emotionally rich, designed for peak moments in deep, immersive sets.
This EP reflects MRAK’s growing evolution as a solo artist. While rooted in techno, the project moves beyond the dancefloor, blending storytelling and sound design into something deeply human. With this release, MRAK continues to define a sound that is as reflective as it is powerful.
